We push our pencil boxes to the side, toss papers haphazardly into our desks. With our jackets on and lunchboxes in hand, the school bus pulls up outside as our teacher gives a last set of instructions, “Everyone find a buddy. You are responsible for watching out for each other throughout the day. Help each other. Support each other. And at the end of the day, you cannot get back on the bus without your buddy.”
What a brilliant idea – the buddy system.
As a third grader participating in it, I didn’t yet know how hard life would be. I do now. And I catch myself wishing I had an assigned buddy to navigate it with.
Someone experiencing similar things, walking nearby through challenges but allowing me to have my own experience too.
This site is my offer to be your buddy.
I will share bits and pieces of my life journey with you. Some sections will be light-hearted, creative, and fun. Others harder, reflective and raw.
Whatever you connect to or identify with, we can walk the journey together.
Feel less alone.
Essentially, we can use the buddy system to navigate life, celebrating the fun, finding our way, all while taking comfort that should the worst happen, we have someone who will find us before the bus leaves.
